Valve Hammer Editor for creating maps of Counter-Strike.

 Many of you might be wondering how to create Maps for the age old, all time favorite game Counter-Strike. Well Valve has created a software knows as the Valve Hammer Editor also known as Worldcraft. Its used to create maps of all Half-Life based games. The one which is used to create maps for the games based on the Source engine is available on Steam.
    
     If you want to create a map for Counter-Strike 1.6 then you need Valve Hammer Editor 3.4

The update to this version is also available, but you need to have the base version i.e. 3.4

     After you've downloaded and installed version 3.4 then just paste the hammer.exe in your C:\Program Files\Valve Hammer Editor folder. When it'll ask you to replace the old hammer.exe select yes and your all set for it.

Record a Video in Counter-Strike Game (Demo file).

Recording with Fraps may lead to loss in frame rate. But there's a way in which you can record your gameplay without any loss of frame rate. Just do as i say.

• Open up your Counter-Strike Game (This works for 1.6, CZ & Source too).
• Join your desired game or start a server of your own.
• When your ready to record just open up the console by pressing the '~' key.
• Type "record <demoname>" without quotes and press enter, where the demoname is the name of your video. You can't use space between the demoname (For eg; "record my_first_demo" and NOT as "record my first demo").
• Continue with your gameplay and when you want to stop your recording just type in console "stop" without quotes and press enter.
• Your demo/video will be saved in your Counter-Strike/cstrike folder as "my_first_demo.dem".
• All your videos will be saved in the .dem format.

To view the video/demo just open up your console and type "viewdemo <demoname>" OR "playdemo <demoname>" without quotes (for eg; viewdemo my_first_demo).

How to Add Plugins In Cs 1.6 Server

Cool Plugins can make your server attractive. It is very simple to add a Plugin and I'm gonna teach you how to do so.

(Note: To add a plugin u need to have AMX Mod X installed. To see how to install it click hear)

• First of all you'll have to download a plugin. For trial purpose download the Grenade trail plugin by clicking hear. This plugin will leave a colourful trail when you throw a grenade(red color for HE Grenade, blue color for Flashbang and green color for Smoke Grenade by default). 

                

• Steps to add plugins to your Counter-Strike 1.6 server;

1. After you've downloaded the 'grenade_trail.amxx' copy it to your ......\Counter-Strike 1.6\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\plugins folder.
2. Now copy the exact file name i.e. 'grenade_trail.amxx' without quotes.
3. Once you've copied the exact name of the plugin file open the 'plugins' file with notepad. You can locate it at ......\Counter-Strike 1.6\cstrike\addons\amxmodx\configs directory.
4. After opening the 'plugins' file scroll down to the bottom of the notepad and right after the last line paste the plugins name i.e. in this case 'grenade_trail.amxx' without quotes.

     

• This is it, you've added your plugin. Now save changes and start a new game, you'll find your plugin active.
• To add multiple plugins just repeat the process and paste the plugins name below the previous plugins name. See the image below;

  

• Suppose you want to deactivate a plugin, then no need to delete the plugin file.All you have to do is just add a ' ; ' without quotes and save changes. When u start your game that plugin will be disabled.
• To get the plugin back in action remove ' ; ' sign.

How to Make Your Own Spray Logo

1) First of all u’ll have to download the decal converter software.

2) Once downloaded just extract the zip file to your desired location. Then open the folder which u’v extracted. In that folder u’ll find "DecalConverter.exe",open it.

 
3) Then click on "File/Open Picture.." and select a picture which u want to spray as a logo. Then your selected image will appear in the Decal preview box. The width and height will be automatically adjusted, no need to change it.

4) After u’v finished editing your decal, it’s time to save it now. To save it just click on "Decal" next to "File" menu, then click "Make Decal…",press 'add' and select desktop (the decal will be sent to your desktop) and then press ok.

5) Now u’ll find a file named “pldecal.wad” on your desktop. All u have to do is just rename the file from “pldecal.wad” to “tempdecal.wad”. After renaming right click the file and click properties and check the read only attribute and click ok.

6) Last and the final step, copy the file and past it in your \Valve\Counter-Strike 1.6\cstrike folder. It will ask u to overwrite the existing file, so click yes. Now start your game and join a server to check your spray by pressing ‘T’.

(Note: Do not forget to change the file to read-only attribute, or else you may face problems.)

“Could not contact Master Game Server to retrieve Server list” Problem Solved

When I installed Counter-Strike 1.6 for the first time and tried to find Servers to play online, a message used to come, “Could not contact Master Game Server to retrieve Server list”. This made me angry, but finally I found out the solution to get rid of this message and get a list of best servers to play online.

• Masterserver is a server which tells clients (that's YOU) what are the IP addresses of game servers. What you need to do is change the default MasterServer IP address to Setti MasterServer IP address. To do that follow the instructions;

1. Download the Setti 'MasterServers.vdf' by clicking hear
2. Once downloaded just extract the ‘MasterServer.vdf’ file to …\Valve\Counter-Strike 1.6\platform\config
3. Windows will ask u to overwrite the existing ‘MasterServer.vdf’ , click yes.

Now you can find more than 1000 Counter-Strike 1.6 Servers. Join the one which you like and have fun.

(Note: If you have a steam Counter-Strike than don’t forget to change the ‘MasterServer.vdf’ to Read-only attribute after overwriting it in the ‘config’ folder) 

Install AMX Mod X to Counter-Strike 1.6

Many people asked me How to add AMX Mod X to their Counter-Strike 1.6 game. It’s very simple and following are the steps to be followed;

1) First u have to download the AMX Mod X addons file. To download it click hear

2) Once you've downloaded the file, just open it by ‘Winzip’ or ‘WinRar’ and extract the ‘cstrike’ folder to your C:\Program Files\Valve\Counter-Strike directory. It will ask you to overwrite the existing liblist.gam file, select yes.

3) That’s it, AMX Mod X has been installed to your game. Just start your game and click on “New Game”, select the number of bots and have fun.

(Note: If u have the older version of Counter-strike, the game may crash when u play with bots after installing AMX Mod X.)

Admin commands in Counter-Strike 1.6 for server using Amx Mod X

  There are many commands in Amx Mod X for an admin of a server running Counter-Strike 1.6. They seem to be a little confusing, but with time you can learn them all. Connect on same server no matter what!

If you are looking at this post that means you have a problem.

Some servers use a hack (gamemenu), who change your menu of Counter-Strike.

You are trying to find server and you are connected on same server even when you try to quit, find servers, connect, etc.

To solve the problem you need to download a program, this will fix the gamemenu problem.

Start your Counter-Strike game and then run this file. It will automatically fix your problem. Then restart the game, after it says your problem is fixed.
Also this plugin is a master server fix.
